Ballarat IVF - Fertility Clinic

Dr Annie Tan

Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, Fertility Specialist

Annie’s interest in Women’s Health began in medical school, while on placement at the Royal Women’s Hospital. After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2010, she returned to the Women’s and commenced her specialist training in 2014.

Annie has also worked at the Mercy Hospital for Women, Sunshine Hospital and the Ballarat Base Hospital. As a Fellow, Annie gained further experience in adolescent gynaecology at the Royal Children’s Hospital and gynaecological cancers at the Mercy Hospital for Women. This background has provided her with a breadth of experience encompassing complex obstetric care, ultrasound, colposcopy, pelvic floor surgery and advanced laparoscopy for endometriosis.

In 2019, Annie relocated to Boston to undertake a research placement at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the second-largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. Annie was awarded her Masters of Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales in 2022 and teaches medical students via the University of Melbourne and Deakin University Clinical Schools.

Annie considers it a great privilege to care for women at all life stages; from adolescence to pregnancy, menopause and beyond. She is delighted to be part of the   OGB and Ballarat IVF team, and values the opportunity to offer high-quality care to the people of Ballarat and surrounding communities.

While not at work, Annie is most likely to be found reading a book, planning her next holiday or making a mess of her kitchen (translation: she likes to cook).
