Ballarat IVF - Fertility Clinic

Dr Sam Newbury

Gynaecologist

Sam was raised on a cattle property in remote North Queensland before moving to Townsville to attend Medical school at James Cook University which fostered a passion for improving regional access to women’s health care. After completing medical school in 2009 he moved to Mater Mothers Hospital in Brisbane to chase a comprehensive education in Women’s Health. His Gynaecology and Obstetrics training occurred throughout metropolitan, regional and rural Queensland with specific exposure to Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery and Rural and Remote healthcare. He spent an advanced training year in the Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical Unit on the Gold Coast. He joined Warrnambool O&G and SouthWest Fertility to develop his expertise in fertility. He then completed an additional Advanced Laparoscopic Fellowship year under the mentorship of Dr Dalton through Ballarat IVF. During this time he focused specifically on complex endometriosis surgery, and management of fibroids in women with fertility problems.

Sam has made a permanent relocation to Warrnambool with his wife, Belinda, and their two children. He enjoys caring for women experiencing all gynaecological issues but has a special interest in Endometriosis and pelvic pain and Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery.
